I got my ranger obsidian because I liked it, not for prestige. Most people don't even realize it's a fow armor.
Not really. Most people don't care what armour you wear.

I bought Necro FoW because I liked it. Never bothered with others due to better sets being available. I'd of got Para FoW, but as I really CBA to play anymore, that just isn't going to happen.

If it's something you really want, by all means. Go for it. But if it's something you'd like but don't absolutely have a great desire for, then there are plenty of other things to spend your money on.

I've spend a good 8 months on farming and playing before I had enough mats for my Obsidian Armor. For, me it's worth it.

It was a nice goal before, but ever since anet has put priority into titles, thats where I think most of my time is now spent.

I have fow ele, derv, and rit, and I must say every one of them was worth the 2 weeks of farming/trading they took.

PS: Don't waste your time getting it on a character that isn't your main at least for awhile, I've begun to regret getting my ele and rit fows since they're just mules now :/

No, it's not worth it! Especially considering I've being playing for 3 years (something like 5000 hours) and haven't had one single drop of Ecto yet!

If you just want to look 1337, then don't buy it. Unless you have lots and lots of money to "throw away"(in that case, just give it to me xD).

You tried entering the UW, or even Tombs?

i'm saving for it on my ele
it is hard to get all the money but i really like the look of it and i want something of everything
this is my first fow set and it is a new experience for me if i get that
now i know i would probably get flamed of why i find this a new experience but getting an expensive armor is quite new and enthralling to me
just like when i got my first elite armor this is my first fow armor

I never saw it as worth it. for all of my characters, I like other cheaper armors better. no point imo. especially on the uggo michelin man male warrior armor.

I think obsidian armor is great. It is a big challenge for most people and it's also fun when your guildies or friends know your working towards somthing. I get asked every day by guildmates how my fow is going and im always proud (as proud as you can get about a video game) to tell them. Right now im working on my second set of fow for my ele (first being warrior) i love both sets and although many people don't believe fow sets are worth it i really like them. i have farmed most of my ectos in under a month the best way i think is to solo uw with a terra tank e/me the build is floating around either here or on pvxwiki.com its a great build once u get the hang of it. so yes i say if you like the armor go for it!

When you have nothing else you want, it's nice, but IMO it's not worth concentrating on if you're looking for other things.

Yes. It is worth it. That said, accept no one else's opinions about it.

Make of my reply what you will.

I got paragon FoW armor cause it looked sweet. The others I might consider if I had the money.

The only one I would say no to is the warrior armor....and that's because it's a poorly designed armor for a person fighting on foot (yes I know it's a fantasy game, but I'm to much of an armorer not to notice things like that :P).

But if you're getting it just to impress people, you're going to be disappointed.

I only bought Obsidian for my male Elemantalist 'cause they get shafted when it comes to good looking armor (yes male Vabbian is ugly imo).
My monk, ranger and mesmer have other 15k/10k sets because I don't need to spend that much money on good looking armor for them (monk has 15k kurzick, ranger has 15k kurzick and mesmer has 10k monument).

I spent time farming greens way back and made enough money for FoW. This was back when ectos were 8-9k each. It was totally worth it.

Got Obsidian for my Nec about 2 n' a half years ago when ecto was about 14k each >.< and even though there are better armours about now I can’t seem to part with it, guess I’ve grown attached to it... but geez it must need one hell of a wash by now O_o.

Obsidian is worth it imo but only for yourself and not to show off.
if you plan to show off your armor, make an armor mix and dye it well; its hard to impress nowadays.
